Even the best nitrile disposable gloves we have come across seem to break all too easily and whilst they're cheap enough, it's pretty annoying to find you've got nice pink hands save a big black thumb pad. This product is primarily for cleaning chrome plating. We feel that it is misleading to describe a chome cleaner as a polish because strictly speaking a polish is a very fine abrasive like the ubiquitous Autosol which is a great product for polishing aluminium and stainless steel, but should never be used on plated parts or anodising as prolonged use will wear away the plating. Ever seen chrome where is has patches of a yellow - that's where it has been polished and the chrome has been removed leaving the nickle showing through.

This is the perfect product to bring your make your chrome properly bling again! Just rub a small amount on and then polish it of with a soft cloth. Old T shirts are great for this. Use sparingly - a little goes a long way!

In our opinion there is no finer metal polish that the ubiquitous Autosol. It has been around since Stonehenge had a roof on it and has never been bettered - it simply does what it says on the tube! We still use it on our classic Kawasakis applying to the aluminium parts as we have for decades with bits of old T shirt.

The only caveat is that it is a metal polish, NOT a chrome cleaner and plenty of chrome plating has ruined over the years by folks polishing chrome with metal polish. It is a fine abrasive and as chome is only plated a few microns thick it can easily be removed leaving the thicker nickle plate showing it's more yellow finish.

This mat is great for the workshop as it absorbs oil but not water. Each mat can absorb 2.6 litres of oil. These mats can be used when working on a bike to catch any oil spills before they become an issue. They are also useful to put under incontinent classic and vintage bikes that feel the necessity to mark their territory!

This is a really useful workshop wire brush set. It has 6 sizes of brushes (9mm, 11mm, 13mm, 15mm, 17mm and 19mm) made from 3 materials - stainless steel, brass and nylon.The brush heads all fit nicely into a softgrip handle using a 1/4" quick chuck. To get into less accessible places there is a 6" (150mm) extension.

This set is great for cleaning out threads, pipes and drilled holes. It can clean out holes that in a way no other tool can. The nylon brushes are particularly useful in delicate items, or items that are painted. When this set came out we bought one for our workshop and have found it invaluable.

Soda Blaster

Soda blasting is a great way to clean up bike parts as it is very gentle compared with bead blasting, wire brushing etc. We had had a DIY go at soda blasting in the past and were not impressed with the results, so when this new product became available we were more than a little sceptical. When the test unit arrived we gave it a go on a set of painted throttle bodes and we were blown away (pun intended)! We have bought the test unit and are very happy to sell the product. This unit comes with 1Kg of Soda media.

The blasting will not damage glass, rubber or plastic and you need very little masking when blasting. Unlike glass beads the media is not going to damage delicate engine parts. From a mess perspective you would be ill advised to use it indoors, but it is fine to use on the lawn or whereever as the used media is 100% harmless to the environment and will eventually simply blow away.

The manufactures recommends using a compressor capable of providing at least 180 litres/minute or 6.5 CFM; any compressor over 1½ HP should be fine. It is rated for 6 - 12 Bar (87 - 174 psi). We will supply it with either PCL (RHS in photo below) or HiFlo (LHS in photo below) connectors depending on what is on your air line.

Despite being an industrial product, this fluid is actually a natural solvent bases cleaner which is much safer to use than the chlorinated and aromatic hydrocarbon solvent option.

We have found it excellent for use on carburettors, brake systems and even electrical parts.

Comes in a 5 litre bottle that is diluted and will make upto 100 litres of ultrasonic fluid. It is used from 5 - 10% in water. We have always used 10% and found it very effective. It may well be as good at 5%, but we've never tried it - if it works, don't change it philosophy. It's far cheaper than the product we used previously

High quality professional chain cleaner suitable for use with standard, 'o' ring and even 'x' ring chains.

Most motorcyclists are aware that they should lube their drive chains with a good quality chain lube; what many bikers are less aware that one needs to clean them. The problem is that grit, sand etc tends to stick to the lube on the chain creating a grinding paste. You should give the chain a good clean using a chain cleaner and chain brush from time to time. Obviously once the chain is clean you need to re-lube it. Well looked after quality drive chains will last tens of thousands of miles; unloved chains will last only hundreds.
