Laser Mini Pocket Worklight

Laser Mini Pocket Worklight

This worklight is frankly amazing. It is about the size of a Swiss Army Knife and one has been in Ralph's pocket since he was shown one. The light output is staggering for such a tiny light.

The 3watt COD light produces 300 lumens on standard level, 150 on the battery saving level and for a short burst (45seconds) will chuck out 500 lumens! It is powered by a built in 600mAh Lithium Ion battery which can be charged with the supplied lead from any USB charger

The battery will last 3 hours on the lower rate and an hour and a half at 300 lumens power.

It has a strong clip to clip it to clothing and also a strong magnet on the base for attaching it to iron or steel objects.

Heat Shrink Gun

Heat Shrink Gun

We took one of these new tools from Laser Tools to test for Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine. Ralph was so impressed with this excellent tool that he instantly put in an order for stock for Biker's Toolbox.

This tool is lightweight and easy to use with a blow temperature set perfectly for electrical heat shrink tube. It only uses 300watts of power making it far more frugal than the big heat guns, which is a big bonus given the price of lecky these days! Big heat guns tend to have big nozzles that get very hot and can burn the hand that feeds them and often take a while to cool down to a safe temperature.

For us this little tool is a revelation for wiring and we expect to sell bucket loads of them to canny bike fettlers

To say we were impressed with this tool is an understatement. We cut through 16mm² battery cable with this tool like a knife through butter leaving a neater cut than many wire cutters. It claims to be able to cut through 70mm² cable, but as we don't use anything thicker than 16mm² on bikes we didn't try it on anything heavier. The scissor part of the cutter slices though every type of sleeving we use and stock effortlessly.

The tool claims to be able to crimp, and we were surprised to discover that, with a bit of care, it will crimp 1mm² and 2mm² tube type butt connectors.

The cable cutter part can also be used to carefully cut through the insulation on a battery cable.

There are lots of what Ralph describes as 'novelty accessories' for socket sets, claiming the world, but being a poorly made solution to a problem that never existed in the forst place. This tool, however, really is a great piece of kit that delivers on so many levels and is seriously well made for the professional.

Ralph was lent a sample to try and not only refused to return it, but also bought another for his second workshop, so useful did he find it. He also positively reviewed it in Classic Motorcycle Mechanics magazine
