Don't let anyone tell you that you don't need a torque wrench. The less of an expert you are the more you need one. Motorcycle restorers spend a huge amount of their lives putting right damage caused by home mechanics that "don't think they NEED a torque wrench". Often they don't even realise immediately the damage. It's the next gut who takes the fastener out and goes to re-fit it that discovers the damage; stretched bolts and studs, weakened threads in engine blocks, we've seen it all!
With a click or break type torque wrench ALWAYS take it back to zero as soon as you have finished using it, or the spring will be permanently damaged. This applied to ANY torque wrench of any cost. The electronic ones don't need zeroing after use.
