The IAM: More Than Meets the Eye

The IAM has often been unfairly stereotyped as a club for experienced riders on large touring motorcycles. However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. Today, the IAM welcomes riders from all backgrounds and motorcycle types. Our training is designed to enhance riding enjoyment while equipping riders with the skills to navigate the often-challenging road environment safely.

The IAM’s riding methodology is fundamentally the same as that employed by advanced police motorcyclists, minus the high-speed pursuits. Even the most seasoned riders acknowledge the superior skillset of police motorcyclists, a testament to the effectiveness of structured training.

Personally, completing my IAM training and test after decades of riding was a revelation. It significantly improved my riding enjoyment and, importantly, enhanced my safety. My wife, a relatively new rider, transformed from nervous to confident after completing the IAM course.
